We live in a reclaimed 120 year old farmhouse in remote northeastern Floyd County on the headwaters of the Roanoke River. I taught biology for 12 years, was a physical therapist for 15, and now am back to teaching while pursuing interests in writing and photography and involvment in my local community.

Digital photography (landscape and nature), writing (memoir, essay, non-fiction), gardening (veggies), culture (especially Appalachian and SW Va), music (traditional, folk and bluegrass.)
